And, it just happens to be within 100 feet of my house. This tree with its heart knot could be in some unseen corner of the Amazon, or on some hard to reach mountaintop. But, no, it's right down the street where I can see and appreciate it.

*Giggles* Kind of like how there are skunkies in my neck of the woods for me to see! ^_^ And get sprayed by.

I'm pretty sure I've only seen one skunk in my lifetime, and it was roadkill. That's good enough for me.

An unusual sight indeed, and very appropriate for today of course. Thanks for sharing this.

I've been meaning to take a photo for awhile, and what better time to do it? I'm glad you like it.

Did I ever mention there is a tree stump that has the shape of Mickey Mouse in the back corner of my backyard?

I agree. Hell, it made US.

I'd like to see a pic of that stump, if you haven't already submitted it.

Yeah.

Huh... somehow, I thought I already did. I DID upload it onto Facebook, though. I downloaded those images and put them on my Stash to show you.
Maybe I might eventually upload them onto this site. These and maybe some current photos.

Yep, this stump is sitting out there, in the back corner of my backyard. It doesn't have all that hay stuff on it. But that's precisely how it's shaped (with a crack in the middle to the head).
It's weird that that thing just appeared in my backyard. Could this be a sign?

EarthVStheDerek In reply to JIMENOPOLIX [2017-02-15 23:39:44 +0000 UTC]

That is uncanny. Of all the places where it can be, it's in your yard. And, the tree just happened to be cut down, exposing that Mickey shape. If I believed in omens/signs, I'd say this was one.

JIMENOPOLIX In reply to EarthVStheDerek [2017-02-16 00:03:25 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, it's both weird and cool! This is the sort of thing you would find in the Disney Parks, in a certain attraction, and yet it grew naturally in my backyard!

Cool!
