I don't think I remembered to mention this last time, but... yeah, these are colored, even though I mentioned how I don't think I'm very good at coloring. But hey, just for you guys, I decided to do some color references for them! If anything, it'll motivate me to draw them digitally more whenever I get that opportunity... but let's stop worrying about that, ok? Here we have Goombrooke and her partner, Squiggy.

Unlike most of your early-game partners, Goombrooke is a bit different because she's actually a Tanoomba: a Goomba that has adapted to life using the powers of the Super Leaf. Tanoombas are predominantly found in Riverjade Valley, where the Tanooki Trees there help shelter the Goombas from harm. Goombrooke's family owns the Riverjade Ranch, a farmland in the valley that's used to grow all sorts of vegetables and other crops. The ranch is actually a cooperative effort between the Tanoombas and their neighboring Wigglers, allowing Goombrooke to befriend a tiny Squiggler who she passionately refers to as Squiggy.

Although wild Goombas have often fought with other species to protect their trees, the Tanoombas and Wigglers of Riverjade Ranch have set aside their differences to work together. This can be clearly seen in Goombrooke and her friend, as they essentially spend more time together than with their seperate families. Squiggy likes to hitch a ride in Goombrooke's tail whenever possible, and the two often go to libraries and read when they're not working on the ranch. When Mario ends up arriving in Riverjade Ranch, Goombrooke offers to escort him out safely, and eventually joins him to see the magical world they live in. Don't worry, though - as long as they're bringing back new crops and good memories, their parents will support Mario to the end.

As the first partner to join Mario's team, she is the Tattle partner that will tell you about where you are and what you're doing. She can provide hints on how to advance, how to take down certain enemies, and what your current objectives are. In battle, she's a balanced partner who uses her Tailbonk and Multibonk to attack foes from above, or her Leaf Shroud to transform Squiggy into a Mario decoy. She's not excellent at anything, but she's a light answer to most problems and can guide you through what to do. Here's her moveset:

Tailbonk: Goombrooke uses her tail to hover in the air before stomping on a foe.
Tattle: Squiggy pulls out a pocket dictionary to read about enemies, with Goombrooke occasionally throwing in remarks.
Multibonk: Goombrooke uses her tail to hover in the air and stomp foes repeatedly. Super Rank required.
Leaf Shroud: Goombrooke uses her Tanooki powers to turn Squiggy into a Mario decoy. Squiggy acts as a third party member with the same actions and stats as Mario, but if he gets attacked then he'll turn back to normal and will require a turn of recharge. Ultra Rank required.
Tail Tornado: Goombrooke spins her tail wildly through all enemies, with damage decreasing the farther she goes. Goombrooke will continue this motion through the rest of the turn, reflecting any magic attacks thrown at her. Trial Rank required.
