Description Whew, this one to a bit of time. This is Soviette, a character by . My original idea was to have this character holding a soldier by the neck but seeing how someone did something exactly like that for another character named Rowr, I thought it best that I change the posing in my work. Everything viewed came from Daz3D except for the textures that I created to replicate the colors of Soviette's outfit.

I even lucked out and found the soviet symbol to use.

Nice pic. It would have been better if you had her holding a soldier by the neck like a pic I saw of Rowr....

Just kidding!

Excellent job on her costume btw. That's one thing I need to get alot better at, creating my own textures.

Thanks. And with all the practice, I'm finding texture making is getting easier. With my technique I find I'm using Photoshop AND MS Paint to create them. Oddly, I have a mental block when it comes to using 2nd skins because it still feels like the model is nude with painted on clothes. That is why I alway use the ultra catsuit. To me, the catsuit looks better.

I said it on the boards, but I've got to say it again, you did a fabulous job recreating the character, the costume is spot on.
The whole thing looks great, its cliche, but you really have gotten better and better with every piece, Durs, keep it up!

Thanks. I'll try and keep it going even if I have to take artistic Viagra.

It is great! If I may offer a small piece of criticism though. You really should look into blurring the forefront just a little bit.

She seems to contrast very sharply with the background. I don't do 3D myself, so I wouldn't know where to start, but it just seems to me that you should be able to make her a part of the image (so to speak) by blurring her just a bit.

But, besides that, I really like it

Wow that's terrific! The render is really clean and the costumery is excellent!

She does however have her legs crossed... which makes her center of gravity about 3 feet to her right, what with all that robot action she's holding up...

That's the neat thing about fantasy, a hero can lift a ton, stand on 1 leg, and strike a pose without batting an eyelash!

I tried the 'center of gravity' thing on Mark Sylvestri when he was in my shop one time. His one character in Cyber....cyber... whatever the hell those guys were from Image? Cyberforce. Oh my lord. One guy with 3 HUGE. HUGE cybernetic arms *on one side of his body*. Not two arms on EACH side, nooooo. Three on one, and one lonely human arm on the other.

I was like... dude, you know those little action figures? There's a reason it doesn't stand up without being posed waaaaay off to the other side...

He didn't much care for physics, I think.

That's because physics has limitations and the imagination doesn't. Also shows the difference between practicality and what looks good. A super strong cybernetic arm with carbonized steel muscularity looks cool in comics, but in real life would look like robotic arm from a auto manufacturing plant (6 ft by 3 ft arm), mounted on a persons shoulder with a backpack to hold all the processors and a chest mounted keyboard and display. I know I wouldn't want a 600 lbs arm attached to me....

Oh! Didn't see you there. I was updating the journal.

I'm glad you like. I wanted to get as close to game character as I could.
