Doughnuts are my absolute favorite treat. (The picture eerily resembles that of The Leaning Tower of Pisa!!  )

these look delicious!
...but I have to correct you
I am Italian and I can assure you that "zeppole" are not "italian doughnuts"
In Italy "doughnuts" are usually called "bomboloni" and so are the one in your picture
"zeppole" instead are puffs filled with cream and topped with black cherries...usually aren't fried, but baked. [link]
also they're typical of saint Joseph day (also known as Dad's Day)

I hope I didn't offend you

Hahaha, no you didn't offend me in the slightest.

I seen this message a few days ago and started to research why the name difference and I have come to the conclusion that in Australia what you know as bomboloni is called zeppole here. I was surprised cause everyone calls them zeppole, regardless of that you are 100% correct, this image was mislabeled and has been corrected,as it has been in the restaurant, thank you for the heads up, I don't speak fluent Italian and it appears nether does the rest of Australia.

How frustrating for other Italians!
