I mentioned having made a fish AU with my friends. The main thing is trying to make designs for characters that are all unique. There's a story too, but it's hard to explain and very unfinished.

Top left is Broken Vessel, also known as "Brother" (though there's no lore reason for that name here). This AU exists in the first place because I had a dream where Broken Vessel was the same species as Monomon. Green may not be the most fitting color for him, but I wanted it to match my dream. His mask is made from some kind of conch shell? He has no hands, which makes him reliant on his siblings. His tendrils glow and have venom in them, which is painful but relatively harmless.

The second one is Periwinkle. She's mostly squid with a bit of jellyfish. She wears a scarf made from a piece of fishing net. Her mask is half of a scallop. She doesn't have hands either, but all her tentacles have suction cups.

Aquamarine is a blue sea dragon, AKA Blue glaucus, though they aren't toxic like the real creature. They have external gills like an axolotl, and their mask is a sand dollar. They wear a strand of lifeblood seaweed, which I think just has regular medicinal properties in this AU instead of being supernatural.

Azure is an OC that doesn't actually belong to me, she belongs to my friend. Vessels usually do not have natural mask-like faces, most wear masks crafted by Azure. She put a lot of work into her own mask, one built from both a shell and a carefully carved piece of coral. She wears tons of little bits of jewelry from tiny shells she finds.

Many vessels choose to wear masks to look more like their parents, who are both pure white, with other vessels just doing it to fit in. Many of the older vessels do look more like their parents, but the younger ones spent more of their developing years at the bottom of the sea, which began to do strange things to their bodies...
