Description "It's show time!"
"Ye not guilty, dude!"
"O-tacular!"

*ahem*

I had to do a wiki page for my data structures class. Now... come on... I took one look at what I was assigned to write up... then looked at my tablet... and several moments later (I did this all in two days D: ), I have these crappy comic pages. (I will put the other in my scraps later... it's on the general tree ADT using a chainsaw and a tree...)

My notebook is full of stuff like this anyways... it's not like I'm being OOC. Everyone in my class says they love my notes... and yet, it doesn't get me any friends

--------------

btw... uh... Big O notation is REAL! [link]

Done in photoshop using my patented "Crappy 5 minute speed color junk" filter. Please, don't remind me how horrid the first frame is. Ahhh! wobbly lines! it's only for a grade

Big O is (c) Sunrise Inc. or whoever else owns them now...

Lol. XD

I was waiting for someone to bring up this pun (Big O vs Big O Notation).

Nicely done, and I like how the comic goes along with explaining the notation methiod.

Thanks! Glad you liked it. You code much? Or just a CSE student?

Well, I do a bit of programming, but nothing that involves Big O notation.

I just happen to know about the notation.

Ah. Okie doke. I gotta ask. I don't get to meet many people who understand this on DA

Ah, I see.

I'm kind of new to this notation methiod though (I'm just going into my senior year in high school, so I probably won't be hearing much in the way of notations until math class starts).

ah geez... yeah, you're gonna have a looooot of fun if you choose to do college and follow the computer science route. Yeah. Loooots of fun. Still, discrete math is the essence of uncool math, so it's still not that bad.

Well, I am going to college.

My major is bioengineering, but I was concidering computer sciences as a minor.

I tried bioe, and failed so badly at labs that I had to quit the program (since it would've taken forever to fix the grades). That's the reason I'm in CSE... my original joy was Neuroscience.

Ah, I see.

Right now I'm in Advanced Placement (AP) Biology (it's a college course that I'm taking in high school. I'm even getting college credit for it).

It's not that bad. The quizes are annoying, but that's the worst of it.

AP Bio... geez... the memories flood back. Good times. Bad times. I liked the AP Bio exam better than the others. I actually enjoyed failing the AP Calc exam. Losers. They weren't testing for ability... just testing for deterministic elimination. I love how I answered the "essay" response on that exam. They had those "Do not right outside this box" on the answer page... so I wrote "Outside this box" all along the border of the answer box. Best F... ever.

Lol. XD

I did that once on an exam just to annoy the proctors (write outside the box). >XD

The funny part was that they actually let me get away with it.

Damn. I loved Big O [the show. not the notation]. I only have watched first season and never got chance to see more.

This seem like a very fun project. It's cool that you are a CS major and does stuff like this at same time. I think it's very fun to have an artistic skill while being in any kind of science field. I used to write my lab report with bunch of cartoons. I was probably the only one who actually enjoyed doing lab write up. [Luckly, the teacher permitted me to continue drawing on it] Those were the days...

Sorry for babbling. But I think this is very well done. "OMG skirt" is freaking hilarious. I have never heard of Big O notation before. I believe I am far from understanding what it is. Although, I did understand what is told in the comic. [I think. who knows. I am stupid. HA]

thanks for the comment. Yeah, I guess I'm getting weirder every semester. I think I'm the only guy who loves CS, and it's because I know I can program something that I can use later (and art program) among other things. I wish more people tried to have fun with what they study.

Aw, real big O notation does not involve giant robots? So sad.

Dudymas In reply to NycterisA [2007-11-27 19:16:00 +0000 UTC]

well, on the page I wrote:

"I'm glad to know that mathematics is always there to save us from problems by ejecting huge hulking robots out of the earth that shoot eye lasers and pectoral gats".

....

I think I might edit out the 'ectoral gats' (although it's TRUE!) but, yeah. I don't care what they say... I can imagine math however I want, and actually in the past, I've done mathematics problems using purely my imagination. Which rules! So, don't let the man get you down... you can ALWAYS solve math problems with robots. (In my case, I used oceans and arachnids/crustaceans... but that didn't last because when I tried to explain it, I just scared everyone).

xD Seriously... I'm getting worried... I can't really unsubmit this from the wiki (the wiki has a revision history)... I've already made a TON of bad jokes throughout the entire wiki... I just wonder if he'll laugh, or if they'll ride me out on a rail D:

thanks!

*laughs* Whee for fantastic puns on Big O notation (which I haven't heard of before)... and math is much more entertaining when explained by a giant, skirt-wearing robot. XD
You're pretty good at explaining, some of this stuff actually stirred the long lost coils of math memory in my mind... *applause*

when I go back to class on monday, either I'm going to be assaulted, or they'll have a laurel for me.

before you comment, uh... he's answering a question in the wiki for the class... and I haven't really put that here... so if you don't get what he's explaining at all, it's because of the context of the wiki page... which for heaven's sake, I won't put here unless you guys REALLY REALLY want it.
