Another monster drawing here. Way back when I made a list of monsters and creatures I've been trying to draw, recommended a Wendigo, so here's my take on a Wendigo.

I seem to have thing for deer based monsters (like my take on Krampus - my version looks a bit more like a Baphomet ), so drawing the grown up version of the Wendigo from this picture here - www.deviantart.com/duckyworth/… - felt like something worth doing, especially seen as that was the first time I've drawn a wendigo.

A mythological man eating creature in Native American Algonquian tribal folklore based in the northern forests of Nova Scotia, the East Coast of Canada, and Great Lakes Region of Canada, the wendigo (named after a controversial medical term as Wendigo psychosis - where people were apparently reported to resort to cannibalism when possessed by the wendigo spirit - but modern historians say a lot of these reports were said to be fabricated by naïve anthropologists who take such reports at face value) is described as a monster with some characteristics of a human or as a spirit who has possessed a human being and made them become monstrous, sometimes being portrayed with deer like features like horns. Giants that are many times larger than any human and an embodiment of gluttony, a wendigo is never full after eating a human, growing in proportion to its last meal. Their influence is said to invoke acts of murder, insatiable greed, cannibalism and the cultural taboos against such behaviours.
