Don’t you think Edelgard’s hair just looks gorgeous when it’s down by itself? I like to think that the different hairstyles she wears each represents the different aspects of her personality and all. Like the Leia buns represents Edelgard’s more serious and Royal side; whereas leaving her hair down represents her playful, sweet, innocent, cute, and childlike personality. Like having her hair down makes her feel like she’s free and that her worries cannot reach her at all.
I mean, I get that the Leia buns or pony tail is more or less a Royal regalia thing, but my headcanon here is that whenever Edelgard and Byleth are alone with just each other, she lets her hair loose since I can imagine Byleth always loves it that way. Because as I said before, it represents her playful, sweet, innocent, cute, and childlike personality, which is what they (Both Male and Female Byleth I mean. 😅) love the most about Edelgard.
Nonetheless, this is a great drawing for the Byleth/Edelgard shippers. 👍🏻
