I use the default brushΒ in Sai +Β the 'middle flat' brush + a custom watercolour brush (that's the one that makes the lines look a bit 'shaggy'); no tutorial in the near future, sorry ^^

I think this is my favorite of yours so far. It looks like a playing card. I hope you decide to do a series.
Gremmy got the short end of the stick imo. It was a bad match-up story-telling wise. We found nothing new about Kenny and wasted and interesting character.

The match-up was just as similar as the one against Noitra IMO... Zaraki's known for his simplicity, and Gremmy is likewise very simple compared to the other Sternritters. BTW we did find out he doesn't know what a cookie is (does Yachiru?)!
What was weird was, what was stopping him from doing the same thing to Zaraki? =/

Wow, thanks a lot! I don't think I'll be doing a series tho... I mean, that's a really good idea actually! But I hated painting this so much I'm not much inclined to do anything similar again haha it's tempting tho... idk I might come back to it in the future
Oh, yeah. I thought the match-up was kinda... untraditional to say the least, too. I'm not sure I liked the fight, but I definitelly like the ending. If thisΒ is the ending.

Instead of cheering Kenpachi and his newly gained powers like I did in the last chapter...I felt empty.Β
I guess it's just that feeling that came when Nnoitra was killed. You feel some sympathy towards the adversary.
And everything seemed so sudden. I'm not sure where Kubo'sΒ goingΒ with this...

Well yeah, Kubo does that, makes you feel sorry for the enemy, it wouldn't be so enjoyable to read otherwise wow this sounds so cruel im sorry
I'm not sure where he's ging with it either haha... on one hand I kinda like Gremmy and don't want him to die just yet, but on the other this would be such a perfect end to that fight... so I end up hoping it really is the end. Bc I'd also love a scene change ahaha but that's irrelevant

It's not Kubo's fault. He keeps everyone in character.
Kenpachi never wants a fight to end without him being on the brink of death.
That's what drives all his enemies insane.
That's what pisses them off about him. His stubbornness and will to fight till the very end.
That;s why they take a bad decision for themselves when under pressure.
Doesn't that implies to us too?
Most of us take bad decisions under pressuring circumstances because it just drives us insane.
That's what Kubo tried to show.
