New painting I finished yesterday: The Carp and the Dragon Gate. Based on a Chinese story about a carp that endlessly leaped up to the waterfall through the Dragon’s Gate and was gifted by the heavens by transforming into a dragon as a reward for the carp’s endurance and perseverance to reach up the gate (鯉躍龍門).
