Description I'm not equipped or skilled to cut stones. I did it anyways.

The stone for this 1.5" pendant was cut from a piece of souvenir amethyst from Thunder Bay (the commissioner's souvenir, not mine). The setting is sterling silver. Er... I think that's about it, really.

Addendum: Thank you to everyone giving this piece a ! Responding to each of you individually feels a bit like spam, but I'll be sure to check out your galleries.

Wrapping completely eludes me. This is beautiful. Spare and elegant.

It isn't actually wrapped as such; the wires were soldered into a setting which was closed over the stone once finished. Thank you for the and !

Pretty.

How did you cut the stone?

Thank you! I rough cut the amethyst using a tile saw, then refined the shape with a Dremel diamond disc mounted in my drill press. I used two grades of sandpaper to smooth out the scratches, and finally polished the stone on a buffing wheel.

Oh! I should mention for safety's sake - all the work was done wet. Silica dust is very, very bad to breathe in.

I think you did a good for an inexperienced cut. And the wrapping is beautiful.

I normally hate anything wire wrapped, but for some reason I like this...

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

I've never had much success with wire wrapping techniques. Filigree, on the other hand...

Which is to say that this is the latter, and not the former. Everything you see is soldered in place.

OH, well that explains it!

I must be jaded by all the damn wire wrapping I see on this site.
