Thank you! I rough cut the amethyst using a tile saw, then refined the shape with a Dremel diamond disc mounted in my drill press. I used two grades of sandpaper to smooth out the scratches, and finally polished the stone on a buffing wheel.

Oh! I should mention for safety's sake - all the work was done wet. Silica dust is very, very bad to breathe in.

I've never had much success with wire wrapping techniques. Filigree, on the other hand...
Which is to say that this is the latter, and not the former. Everything you see is soldered in place.
