Well, this is one of Merrill while fighting. I wanted to make her look dangerous, as she kinda is. She does not have one bit of healing in her tree and is all about fucking shit up.And I like the new look of Rock armor, but it is way to cumbersome to do anything (or provide only 25% extra armor). I prefer the look it has when it's forming (which is something akin to this) and thus I created this.
I don't wanna give any spoilers but yeah, that demon had to be included..

Done in I dunno how long in PS.

Fabolous work here. She does look "KICK Ass". I agree with you thoroughly on Rock Armour. Looks Awesome but is largely exaggerated for the numbers it pushes. Once agen Great Work here i enjoy this style of portrayal by you for all the characters. Even the ones i didn't really like look good under your hand.

As an illustration it's fantastic - your technique is wonderful and I love that demon - but I'm having issues with her eyes. Merrill's eyes are huge and almost square - you've made her look human in this. Maybe that was your intent, in which case, carry on!

very awesome. I'm so glad to finally find artists doing good work on Merrill for a change. just looked at both this one and the Aveline one and found them both awesome. All that i see lacking now is one of the default female mage hawke with blood magic in one hand and spirit healing magic in the other. the caption would probably say something about choices or something. That would be my all time favorite piece.

Well, I'd like to know how to use illustrator well (I really wish I knew), so all the lineart is done with the pen tool in PS, after finishing the sketch of course.

pen tool in Photoshop is very similar to the one used in Illustrator.
If you use that style in the majority of your work you might enjoy illustrator
i will admit, learning illustrator is like learning photoshop all over again, but it seems to suit that style (assuming thats how you like to do your stuff)
It looks really good awesome, I could tell it was vector right away
i do all my stuff in illustrator, unfortunately I dont know how to use Photoshop as well as i did years ago back at uni T.T

Well, I usually do not do stuff in this style, but I seem to like it. I think you are right though. I should check it out more. But damn, last time I tried it, I felt indeed as if I was learning PS all over again.

Heh, thanks for the offer. I'd like to have a good tutorial to start with. The pen is similar but also different from PS. If only there was a way to make it as easy as the PS tool, but with the functionality of Illustrator

I love that split between her. She's impaling herself through the stomach, but she is very sweet. I like that she can be badass but doesn't have to be all broody.

Yeah, like that about her as well. She has some hard times ahead and behind her, but still has a bright outlook on life.

It's awesome. ...Yeah, I can't really think of anything else to say right now. It shows that you put in a lot of work; the result is, as usually, stunning and very detailed for something that looks so clean and simple (which I know it isn't). Nice work.
