Description give it all you've got, and it eventually will all come t.o.g.e.t.h.e.r.
I might fill this in a long time from now, I like the sktchyness to it. It's from my photograph "one more stride." so finally for once, everything is copyrighted to me. 45 min.

I dont know what it is, but I'm drawn to this pic everytime I come across your gallery. I think it's just the expression of the horse's face. I like it a lot. Don't think you have to color it in, this really shows the horse's emotion. But if you do decide to color it one day, I'm sure to come and take a look!

I like it as it is!

One beauty of digital imaging is you can have both: draft, as is, or colored... Why not try to color a digital first, to see how it would look like?

Well, maybe taking a look would get you interrested?

Many people switch from drawing pen to digital pen... Digitizer tablets are much cheaper now, and pressure sensitive... They are much more intuitive then using a mouse.

Many years ago, digital art was very different compared to "regular" ink and paint art. Now, the paper is different. The tools are much more simple than they where.

For what I do, Photoshop Elements is great. Many standard photo filters are built-in, and just one click away. Color balance too! I began with the more simple tools, but now, the adjustment layer "Levels" is my best friend! Color saturation, intensity, range, balance, contrast, pretty much in one tool. I'm learning to use masks for more complex editing. Like getting a red moon on a blue background while letting the city in natural color (made-up example...)

Have fun! That's important...

Martin

yeah perhaps but i will always love my traditional work, i kinda think that digital lays everything out for you and is a lot easier and not as authentic as media such as charcoal and such, but thats just my opinion, i know some great artwork comes from dig. art as well

heavens-hatred [2005-07-15 03:08:23 +0000 UTC]

wow love this piece, don't touch this one just trace it or make more copies because its very nice all sketchy like, what you could do (on a new copy) is make it completely dark all friesian style except for the like in the eye, and back ground all smoky style, so you got the extreme light version and then an extreme dark, could be fun?

Nightshade552 [2005-07-15 03:06:46 +0000 UTC]

It's really really good! I like the sketchiness, however, i personally think it would look amazing if you finished it up and added the rest. You did a great job on this, espc. for only 45 min! WOW.

drafterx In reply to Nightshade552 [2005-07-15 03:08:43 +0000 UTC]

aww haha you guys are really making me want to finish it. what would you prefer? graphite or watercolors? but thanks so much for the comment, i am real glad you like it ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Nightshade552 In reply to drafterx [2005-07-15 03:17:21 +0000 UTC]

You are welcome ^^ You know, you are so good at both, i think either would look nice, but you seem to be getting more for the Watercolor.

I think that the black and white is nice as it is however.... But you could make either work ^^ good job And if you do decide to finish it, I can't wait for the results.
