Description I took this photo at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. There were many tokens like this one laid all over the monuments because it was Memorial Day. It really brought home the idea that the men who died in that war were not just mythical heroes from history books.

Wonderful shot, R.I.P. all who gave their lives -- or had to live the rest of their lives with harrowing memories -- for their beautiful country!

This is such a beautiful reminder of what the country has been through and what it stands for. It brings us home indeed.

Very simple and powerful. There's a delicacy of the flowers and flag up against the stone. It has a strong feel to it; nice work.
