Smaller lasses like the fox can get near enough standard equipment, usually not being to much larger than most serving species, bigger girls like the one eyed doggo, have to make some kit from scratch and getting a replacement uniform in that size doesn't happen very often.

A sniper needs a heavy, the dangers of future combat are too immense for an entirely stealthy approach to sniping. Voxoid snipers being paired with Canis heavies for moving cover and constant heavy weapons support. Canis being deployed only into heavy combat require tactics using a more active sniper role, more of a running marksman, constantly finding new angles under the cover of the heavy, specializing in small scale flanking maneuvers.
