Description
And now I am back with some more Star Trek fan stuff for Deviant Art. This time, it is the history of the VGSS Enterprise's successor; the VGSS Enterprise II NCC-1701. Picture of ship from Ex Astris Scientia.
Following the destruction of the VGSS Enterprise NCC-1701, VG Starfleet gave the legendary ship a major memorial service in honor of the accomplishments of her captains and crews. However, it was immediately decided that the VGSS Enterprise's legacy should not end there. Just three weeks after the destruction, construction of a new VGSS Enterprise was already underway that only took several months. This new ship was a Constitution Abrams class, similar to the Constitution class ship of the Kelvin timeline. This new ship, and all ships of that resurrected and updated class, featured enhanced phaser banks, quantum warp drive, and multi-torpedo launchers firing photon, quantum, and tri-cobalt torpedoes (with all ships of this class carrying around seven hundred of each torpedo type, and even having the ability to fire a burst combination of two or three types). Two unique features added are the G-Diffuser system utilized in certain fighter craft in the pre-Republic era, and the power cut ability utilized in Sylpheed-style fighter craft in the pre-Republic era. The latter involves temporarily cutting engine power and allowing the ship to rely strictly on inertia for as long as the power cut is active. This feature is particularly useful in performing certain orbit, rescue, and combat maneuvers.
The new Captain of this vessel was David Faraway, a young and newly-promoted Captain who showed promise with an exceptional record in his early days of service. The new First Officer was Jill Valentine. The new chief science officer was Maridon, the youngest son of original VGSS Enterprise science officer Karvin. The new Chief Medical Officer was Henry James Albright, son of former VGSS Enterprise CMO Leslie Albright. The new Chief of Security was Claire Farron. The new Chief Communications Officer was Kairi. The new SSTF Commander was First Lieutenant Forest Speyer. The new primary and secondary helmsmen were Krelak (one of the first Galadinians in VG Starfleet) and Rebecca Chambers. The new primary and secondary navigators were Marrin Arion (one of the first Milonians in VG Starfleet) and Richard Aiken. The only original VGSS Enterprise officer carried over to the new vessel was Gaduro, who was promoted to Chief Engineer and had carried the position for five years before being replaced by Ellis Wilson. This new crew, consisting of the next generation and members of VG Starfleet's former enemies (and now allies), was destined to carry on the legacy. In fact, during her launch, VGSS Enterprise alumni members Kasumi Tenshin, Ayane Hajin, Karvin, Jonathan Parsons, David Collins, Leslie Albright, Jonathan Walt, Akira Yuki, Jun Kazama, Rinoa Heartilly, Walter Bailey, Jo'Sthar Kabaldan, Jennifer Gates, Naemen, Drek Y'Ula, Drik Y'Ula, Hitomi Buchfink-Tenshin, Leifang Fong, Robert Kooper, Jacob Kompton, James Montgomery, Zoe Heriot, Samuel Kooper, Meg Jackson, Ray Wilson, Robert Marple, Claire Redfield, Leon Kennedy, Thomas Richards, Marvin Branagh, Momiji, Cindy Lennox, Nina Williams, Alisa Bosconovitch, Michelle Chang, Kazuya Mishima, Lee Chaolan, Kagemaru, Sarah & Jacky Bryant, Pai Chan, and Garoro oversaw the new ship's birth (even staying aboard for three whole weeks before returning to their duties).
The ship has overseen tens of thousands of successful missions of peace and exploration, despite some infrequent skirmishes with remnants of Garliak-loyal Galadinians and Dark Legends. It has also participated in several important missions such as rescuing Claire Redfield and Moira Burton from a terrorist group consisting of zombie-like humanoids who were some of the discovered descendants of VG Humans who fled from possible persecution after a horrible accident disfigured them (and after some attempts in negative propaganda by a corrupt politician).
