When I was a little kid, about 7 or 8 years old I did a school assignment about the kiwi. For my class presentation at the end of the week I rang up the Department of Conservation and asked them if they would bring me some big kiwi posters or photos for "show and tell". AMAZINGLY they turned up with actual kiwis, 2 big brown ones and a little chick! We all sat in a circle on the floor and the kiwis just roamed free amongst us while the DOC guys told us about the birds. Because I arranged it I was allowed to pick them out of their cages and put them in the circle of kids as well as hold onto the chick for a while. That memory has never left me, it was pretty dam cool.
Anyway just thought I'd share that little story with you seeing as you're a kiwi fanatic.

Yes, it definitely is. And even now, 25 years later I can't believe those guys were so nice and let such young kids handle the birds. New Zealand is fairly protective of it's endangered national icon so you seldom even see them in zoos anymore. Very cool memory.

Yeah, it's totally awesome. There's this one ride called the Dolphin Plunge, it's a giant slide and goes completely underwater about halfway through! The tube is clear when it goes under water because right outside the tube you can see dolphins swimming around you!
Although, I must admit...Typhoon Lagoon is better. Look it up. It's got a wave pool that generates 10 foot waves...nuff sed. o_O
