Description “He was listening to music when suddenly the person next to him began to stab him in the neck with a large butcher knife” causing many of the 37 passengers to flee the bus. “They returned to the back of the bus to find that the person who was stabbing the person in the neck had now sawed off the head of (the victim)” recalled an actual Greyhound Bus Line passenger traveling to Winnipeg Canada last summer.Greyhound began its operations in 1914 as the Mesaba Transportation Company in Hibbing, Minnesota. Swedish immigrant Carl Eric Wickman started the company by transporting miners from Hibbing, MN, to Alice, MN, for 15 cents a ride.

The Milesburg Pennsylvania rest stop, courtesy of Greyhound. With a mercifully brief 30 minute layover here, the 4425 bus is three to five hours quicker than the alternative schedules, which stop at the equally exciting but deceptively more lovely sounding Blue Mountain Plaza rest stop. The 1651 bus, though more scenic, is recommended only for the most masochistic of travelers. I've had the extreme "pleasure" having taken all 3 routes at various times over the years. Each time I tell myself "Never again!" but the money savings (with a 14 day advance ticket purchase) usually overcomes my memories.

I love the way you manipulate this photo, like ninereeds-DA says, it looks one of that horror places. By the, is the story true?

Thanks very much. I did add a few texture layers to enhance the fog and frost a bit. And yes the story is totally true. I think *Rebacan from Canada is who told me about it initially. I googled it afterwards and found it was totally true. It was even more shocking because it occured in Canada. We wouldn't have been so surprised if had happened here in the states lol.

This look far, far better than the place deserves. Wonderful.

Thanks very much. It is a horrible little "rest stop" off of the freeway with nothing around it and awful greasy food inside. It is much safer than the bus station in Pittsburg PA tho.

Yeh, those wonderful rest stops are kinda the one thing that all countries (that I have seen) in common.

Hehe thank you kindly. Sometimes I feel I need to "fluff up" some of the images to make the subject matter a bit more interesting. I appreciate that you take the time to read my bits of drivia.

Thank you kindly! Yes it is a pretty creepy place actually. Especially on this particular trip, with the fog and light frost. And there were some pretty shady characters on the bus as well. One of them accidentally (?) got my sleeve with a huge gob of spit outside of the restaurant while we were waiting. It was so disgusting but there was little I could do. He looked like he had recently been paroled from prison.

Oh that is awful! But I know what you mean - some people it's best not to mess with
