Description My pathetic attempts at a traditional Japan-ish art style

Time Spent: 5 hours ;A; no joke (but I think most of that time was spent trying to figure out what to put in the background, or trying to make a pretty design on the stupid fan that ended up getting erased anyway D< )
Program: Adobe Photoshop CS

More beautiful character designs once again! I really enjoy the long, flowing fabrics of the kimono and how they remind m of water. I also really enjoy the simple yet beautiful background of the piece. However, there are a couple things I would suggest. Don'be afraid to add shadows and highlights. Flat colouring is fine, but in a piece like this, folds of fabric can really bring out astonishing results in lighting. It would also make the character match the background more, which shows sign f shadows and highlights. Play around with where your light source is coming from and how the shadows would react. You have the potential to bring this character to life, you jut need to step back and spend more time on it. This is your base, now go even further. But other than that, the design is quite peaceful and well done and I really enjoy the feeling this piece gives off. Keep it up!
