Description
After completing "Metroid Prime" I had the urge to create some sort of fan piece based on the game. I decided I really liked the atmosphere set in the Phendrana area (I think much of it had to do with the music), and I thought the flying Space Pirates were quite the interesting adversaries, so I based my drawing on that. I'm not incredibly happy with the coloring. I am very pleased with the way Samus turned out, but I think that background had much more atmospheric potential.February, 2003

Wow. Love the colors and just the overall feel of the pic. The background seems sufficient. Something is missing, but I don't know what it is. Still, its a helluva background anyhow. You should be proud of this art. Its pretty sweeeeeet!

Oh, man... I have such a rough time understanding perspective... But you nailed it! And your understanding of drawing robots is perfect! I dread drawing Metal Sonic and Omega when I get to it in my comic... I need some major pointers...

Yeah, I remember at one point in the game being scared to death of that sound. I don't remember them being particularly easy. At least not for a while into the game...

UGH, Phendrana was SUCH a pain later in the game, but man, it was a fun area. I loved watching the Pirates lose control of their flight systems when they took too much damage. And the atmosphere was so... serene... that music was like listening to an audible qualude.

Samus is great! I always play her on Super Smash Brothers... my buddies think I'm crazy. I like the colour a lot, and the whole angle of the composition is nice!
