Title supposed to be: "Finding Harry Potter in Lord of the Rings"For those who read both Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, I kinda notice that Sauron's Ring may be a horcrux (an object where one keeps a part of his soul).
I mean, Voldemort cannot leave if his horcruxes are not intact, so maybe it works for Sauron's as well. If I'm not too careful, I'll be thinking of writing a Lord of the Rings fanfic using HP characters.

yeah i suppose you are right. i mean sauron put a lot of his power into it.. not sure if it mentioned anything about his soul in the books though

You think the same as I. I too came to the conclusion that SauronΒ΄s One Ring was a little like a Horcrux. A part of SauronΒ΄s spirit lives in the Ring, just as part of VoldemortΒ΄s soul lives in his Horcruxes. Yeah, thatΒ΄s my idea, and yours as well. Very good and funny deviation, by the way. ^^.

Actually, I think HP got the inspiration from LOTR - not the other way around. Lord of the Rings is pretty old.
