I suffer from "masklophobia" meaning the fear of masks (not surgical/safety ones but with faces) & that's why I drew this back when I was in junior high school.

Varying from the Scream movie to the different horrifying, bloody & shrouding faces, I always avoid the mask aisle whenever it's October 31st. It started when I was still a young child along with my parents during Halloween, a guy all in black wearing a shrouding skull mask let out a little deep growl voice before saying Happy Halloween then handed me some candy but I said "No thanks" because I was shaken. That's all I could remember about it & I wish I could forget that haunting memory out of my brain.

In this deviation, it features The Lion King characters Kiara, Kovu, Simba, Nala & Vitani, all terrified of what's behind them. There's a bloody knife pierced in the void of pitch black & Simba's name was written on it. I could represent the knife as my fear impaling me forever like it will be unforgettable. The texts at the bottom center says:

"Scared of being alone in the dark Pridelanders? Don't worry. You're not!"

What I'm really happy about when adding the touches was the streaks & drops of blood. I don't know if I could do my own style again. The tiring part was coloring the leftover background in all black but with permanent marker. The masks look almost exaclty the same as the real ones. For the 5 lions' scared expression, it took time because I had to look through some references.

Maybe this work would look good for a horror movie & Halloween...
