We become tied to too many things that hold us down: the jobs that we hate, a selfish friend, the need to make more money, our obligations, even our families. They pull us in every direction that we feel like we're stuck and powerless and people question where your priorities lie. It's easy to fall into these circumstances for those of us who we feel are selfless or need to please others, but we need to be reminded that we should not be so easily exploited, uprooted, and taken advantage of. We need to start taking control of our own lives, for the sake of our own well-being, for our own mental health.

It's ok to put yourself first. It's ok to say no to things that drain you of your energy.
