Three things!: Impression, critique and something funny.
Impression: The lights suggest me that the tree is "disarming" (the only word I can think, sorry) and ready to travel around all the world, but it could be the other way around: the tree getting assembled to become something marvelous.
Critique: The only critique I have are the mushrooms. They look without the perspective of the rest: the tree, grass, etc. Is strange, as they are the only thing that seems off, so I suspect that was on purpose... but, why?
Funny: Sorry, I can't help to think of Voltron when I see this... "Form roots and mushrooms! Form trunk and branches! And I, will form the crown!" Sorry, couldn't help it....

Hey mate, thanks again, it's always fun reading your interpretations! You are right on your first guess, the tree is breaking apart, showing us a cross-section of the holographic reality within, haha..Thanks also for spotting the mushrooms, i think you are right, the caps seem to be pointing straight upwards, where as everything else is on a slight angle forward....I'll try to fix the perspective soon!
