Description OMG DUDE NO PLANETS?!?!! WTF IS UP WITH DAT?!?!

relax ya bastid! read my journal for details on why im submitting photography.

Description:

Today we went on a fishing trip to Upstate, New York. It was a beautiful day with barely a cloud in the sky, the weather wasnt unbearably hot, but it wasnt cold either. It was just perfect. Not only that, but there was almost no one where we went, only us and like 3 other fishermen in about 30 squared miles, if not more. This is unfortunate because aparently the fish were gone as well. We didnt catch a single thing! However the trip was really relaxing and we got to see some really nice scenery. We hiked about 4 miles through terrain like the one in the picture.

We werent actually fishing here, we were just flopping around the woods when we hear a really peaceful sound, so we follow it and we end up in this little creek. I was lucky enough to have brought my tripod.
It was one of the most peaceful things i've ever experienced. I couldve just stayed there for hours. It felt as if i was the only human in the world. I even had a sip of that water, which was awesome and DIDNT TASTE LIKE FISH.

I usually try to portrait the beauty that space can have, but im not only a space kid. Im an outdoor enthusiast at heart, and things like these are just priceless to me. Its almost as if that little creek carried away all my worries, and i love that state of mind.

Technical information:

Camera: Canon a40
this little thing has a panoramic setting, that makes it easier for you to take pictures like these. It takes a picture, and the next picture you take will have half of the previous shot, so that its easier to stitch them in with your graphic application of choice.

i cant tell you the fstop and shutter speed because i used the semi-automatic (P) option. For those of you with this camera, i had it to a -1 light setting with all effects turned off.

These were about 8 pictures at 1600x1200. I did color adjustments to show EXACTLY how I saw it, and not how the camera lens did.

PS: Thanks to ~bleah- for typo and frame tips

This was pretty close to Bear Mountain. There's a section called the seven lakes. [link]

There are a bunch of roads with twisties and there are a lot of little streams like this one, especially in January/February. They're still there in summer but the water doesnt run as much

I always loved panoramic shots -- I find them pretty fascinating. Especially on the screen, as I scroll sideways, I have the impression I'm spinning and looking around.
Anyway, that's a very nice one; sharp and crisp, and a very beautiful setting. Well done!

PS... damn, I find your icon very stressing to look at. Any plans for replacing it in the near future?

I dunno man. The form on the nebula is weak and the solar flares just aren't believeable. The spaceship kicks ass, though.

That's neat. feel like I'm standing there spinning in circles. Managed to capture it beautifully indeed. Must have been a very nice place to spend the day. The stream (first one on the left, that is) is my favourite. Niceness.

very cool man, I love hearing your inspiration behind these pieces. I gives them so much more depth. I know of a few places like that near where I live... I write most of my poetry there. I'll post some of them someday, but I'm still mustering the courage to bare my soul like that.

Nice work, i struggle with that setting sometimes cause it changes the lighting, thus the colors are different in the seperate sections, really good shot consider, stitched well.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

dinyctis In reply to soz [2003-09-06 05:29:38 +0000 UTC]

indeed! light changes can be annoying at times, i had that problem a lot when i took some pics with different light. Fortunately for this one the light was pretty uniform throughout the whole forest
