Hmmmm what to say about this picture.Well, it was taken at a park here in New York. I was taking pictures for my Photo class assigment. I was photographing animals, and although geese are very common here, i find them boring to photograph. Seagulls, on the other hand, i find slightly more fascinating. Why? They just enjoy freedom. Not the freedom of flying, but in general. They dont need to stick together with a flock, like geese do. That, plus they are amazing at decorating cars with spots of white "paint"
This was taken with a digital Rebel and the 300mm telephoto end of a zoom lens. I was about 3-4 feet from this seagull, which was patient as hell and looked at me like he was going to kick my ass any second.
What i really like about the shot is the blue highlights from the water and the warmer highlights of the afternoon sun. Level and color adjustments in photoshop.

Well if you take a look in my favorites gallery, you would see that I have a strange fascination with seagull's.
This is a beautiful photograph, I love the warm lighting. It look's more like sunset, I am surprised that this was taking in the afternoon. Anway, excellent work!

Excellent photo. The digital SLR series cameras from Canon are great. We bought my mother the EOS 20D for X-mas to advance her photography further. It's funny because the 20D is what I wanted to get.

I love that this is all natural light. The image is amazing. I can't believe that it sat still for you long enough.
We confused a bunch at the ocean once. They wouldn't leave us alone because we were eating, so we threw them a couple of sour gummie worms. That was a sight. They actually fought over them, but kept spitting them out. At least it kept them busy.

we have seagulls that hang around our scholl and attack the crow regulars. and we're not near the sea... freaky seagulls

Cool like his brown hood we have a hell of a lot of seagulls here to the point where I managed to punch one in mid flight complete fluke I heard fluttering (seagulls here like to fly right at you because they know wimps drop food and scream) turned round swinging fist and caught it right between the eyes, as I said pure luck. My my, did that bird flutter about in a bad mood for a moment or two but it found its wings and got them going more or less coordinated and off it went never to bother me again
