14 October 1962: An American Spy plane takes a photography of what could be Soviet missiles on Cuban soil.

CIA decides to inform the president Kennedy about the issue. In our reality he orders a blockade of Cuba and a partial mobilisation of the USAAF in the Southern States, preventing a war with Cuba. By 21 October, the US has installed a naval blockade of Cuba and announced it's public support to India in the Sino-Indian War that started a day before, as a way to scare the communist off.

On 27 October 1962, with the American Armed Forces being mostly mobilised and Kennedy being well aware that the Soviets probably won't back down, an incident happens. An American U-2 spy plane is shot down on Cuban air space. In this scenario, the Defense Minister, Robert McNamara, manages to convince Kennedy on executing an American plan known as "Operation Northwoods", a war plan intended to gain a casus-belli against Cuba if needed.

The plan is executed the next day with an American Destroyer being blown up by the Americans at Cienfuegos. The US declares war to Cuba and the Soviet Union. The World is about to experience the worst of the nightmares ever imagined, a third global war.
