Description I'm not as familiar with most of these other than the occasional comic or film. Of course, Tom Strong is a more current one to join the ranks. But there's something about these old Pulp heroes that is iconic, and just felt like drawing them up as a warmup.

Present and accounted for...Doc Savage, The Shadow, The Phantom, The Spider, Tarzan, Zorro, The Rocketeer, and Tom Strong.

So it's that what look like "the spider master of man" who inspired Stan Lee for the name Spider-Man.

What a wonderful style! I would have loved to see The Shadow as a full body portrait as well, though.

Yesterday I saw Shadow in a movie magazine for the first time didn't think much of it at the time. And when I looked at this I was like "is that shadow.." and then read the artist's comment to find out if it was. so... That's how good you are! Now I just got to get my hands on that movie..

pulps were magazines containing vulgar material, right? I love these characters, especially the shadow and the rocketeer.
