People kept telling me that Goro Miyazaki did a terrible job on the film Tales of Earthsea, but I rather enjoyed it...Anyways, heres some Therru, transforming into her dragon form!

aw thank you! this is pretty weak, in terms of how good i can do a drawing, but thank you anyway! >//< yeah i know! I feel as though the real beauty of the film came from the effort Goro Miyazaki put into it, and the fact that he got a good reaction from his father. (:

No problem! And I still think it's pretty awesome!
And exactly! I think he made a great effort in his first movie! I mean the animation was flawless, and the soundtrack is one of my faves! The plot was good, and considering he tried combining 4 books into one movie, it's good! And on top of that I think he's improved in his latest movie, From Up On Poppy Hill.
But it's good to know I'm not the only one who likes this movie!

yes i completely agree!! he was great in from up on poppy hill! his improvement was great! and yeah i thought earthsea was great! maybe its cause i didnt read the books but hey, i read howl's moving castle AND saw the movie, and they were TOTALLY different from each other. but even so, they were both still phenomenal!

I read the books after watching TFE, and although almost none of the events in books are in the movie, but I still found it great! And the same with Arrietty! The way I look at it is that they are their own separate works that are related to their source material, but are a little altered. When I look at it that way, they're pretty amazing movies!

i agree! :3 i think ghibli keeps in mind that movie adaptations of books are never 100% accurate, so they toy with that idea! they take the basis of the plotline and world, and create their own version of it, and i think thats really awesome!
and you should really read howl's moving castle! it was a great book!
