This is the first one I tried today and wow did it make some cool results! I still need to work a bit more around it to get better, but it really is pretty simple and fun way to do it. I really need to find more simplified ways to draw fire that doesn't go so towards realism, but this is a better step to what I used to try to do. I like it!
