I know exactly how you feel! This happened to me recently but luckily the guy and me are still close friends and it didn't change anything... you should still feel special, it shouldn't matter whether someone likes you or not.
Just be happy with who you are
Everyone's special in their own way, and you shouldn't need a guy to prove it to yourself.

I know people will comment about how now you'll know what it feels like and you're being selfish and so on...but you're being honest. Everyone likes to feel special, even if they don't like that person back. So good for you...it's a hard thing to admit I think. I agree with dnmph...very human.

I actually do find it a little funny how you miss it.
Although, that wish is completely dwarfed by how strongly they probably felt for you.
