Welcome back everyone! What can I say about the B-52? I have loved their zany out of this world style and music for as long as I can remember, everything from Love Shack to Give Me Back My Man, but this picture in particular is from a session of music video shooting for the infamous Rock Lobster videos - both the 1980 Countdown and the official video itself. Its strange how you can love a band so entirely at a certain time of your life then almost completely forget about them - My husband and I love watching old music videos together and one night stumbled upon these treasures from the deep. After rediscovering my love for this crazy cast I thought what better way to solidify them into my own musical "hallway" of fame than to go full acrylic.Countdown 1980

Some friends and I had a fanzine out in 1982 called The Bone Hunter. The B-52s were doing a show at Cornell University, so we tried to get free tix so we could review the show,
and tried to set up an interview. The people at Cornell gave us the tix , but they couldn't give us band access. We ended up following them back to their
hotel after the show. We got an interview with Fred in the lobby! Ended up going back to campus with Kate and their road manager to a frat party they'd been invited to.
We get there and the frat boys said they're out of beer. We're like.. "You ask the B-52s to come to your party, then they actually come and you tell them no beer?"
We found a hidden unopened keg in a back room and made them tap it!

Yes yes ! i remember the Love Shack song when i was younger, Shiny Happy people with REM and Rock Lobster too. kinda had a crush on the Girls with those Beehive hairstyles. Very cool quirky music. Well this is a very cool piece of pop Art here ! nice Work ! looks like an album cover.
