Thank you, Anita. WHat I love about frogs is, once they decide they're not going to hide in the water any more, they sit absolutely still on the lily pad, so there's no camera shaking.

This has been a very green summer, too. All my plant pictures have such vivid green leaves in them. And using the polarizing filter really brings out the color, because it cuts out glare.

No, I really haven't entered any contests here on DA, Anita. Sometimes my work is recognized by a nice deviant and brought to the attention of the community, and that's always very nice. I am so flattered when someone does that! But I don't know about DA's contests. I haven't seen a nature photo contest posted, so I haven't bothered with anything like that. Maybe I should keep an eye pealed and try it some day!

Yes, it is nice to know. I feel appreciated by my watchers, though. That's enough for my ego!

ya know you could put your froggie pictures in a kids book,
but the Lotus would be great in a book of poetry

The pond is located on the grounds of Greensprings Farm Park, in Annandale (Fairfax County), VA. It's near the junction of rt. 236 and Braddock Road!

I wish I could take a decent picture of the entire pond, but it's kind of difficult to do...you have to step back a ways and there's really no more place to step, if you know what I mean! Glad you like my froggies! I love them, and they are like friends now. I'll miss them when the weather gets cold.

THank you, Jenn. It's because I love the little fellas. I will really miss them when cold weather comes around and they burrow down into the mud for the winter.

Actually, I used to eat frogs' legs years ago; they were for sale in all our grocery stores. I haven't seen them for a long, long time, but now I'm a vegetarian and wouldn't want to eat my friends, anyway! After all, they have given me some wonderful pictures to enjoy. Glad you like my pic!
