Description One of my many male Guppies. This guy is a Tuxedo Red-Tailed Guppy in a brandy glass

Info: [Poecilia reticulata] Guppies -
Males grow to only 5cm long, and are a lot more colourful than the larger females. Guppies are livebearer fish - the females eggs are fertilised internally and the young being born once able to swim freely. Ideally, there should be a ratio of 3 females to 1 male, to reduce fin nipping and stress levels between fish. Beware tank mates such as Tiger Barbs and Siamese Fighting Fish, who will nip the fins of male Guppies, and larger fish such as Angelfish and Oscars will eat Guppies.

I temporarily removed him from his usual home - my 120 litre tropical freshwater tank so I could get some photos of him

How old do Guppies tend to live 'till? |D; I've been debating on getting some of my own. I'm not too fond of breeding though, plus my dad said they only live a year, which has put me off. I'd also have to get my own tank, our fishies would eat them probably, especially the Cichlid. DX So probably a no no for a while, until I'm on sufficient funding.

Otherwise. I love how you caught the flowing movement of the fish in this one. The glass gives it all a royal diamondy look too.

Depends on the individual fish, tank conditions and how old they are when you get them. I normally have soo many guppies at once that I can't keep track of how old they all are The guppies I have at the moment are 8 months old, but guppies could live for 2 years at least, if not more.
You don't have to do much with them if they breed, as Guppies mums are prone to then eating their offspring. What fish have you got? You might be alright to keep a couple, and the other fish can eat the baby guppies, preventing you from becoming swamped with guppies (which is what happened to me =3= )

Thanks This was the definatly the best photo I got of my guppies!

I have a Parrot Cichlid, Three Clown Pleco's and another fish that I can't remember the type of. |D He changes from brown to pink, to brown with pink spots to pink with a brown line down both sides depending on his mood if that's any help for identifying. lol The Parrot Cichlid's prone to eating smaller fish though I think, our Neon Tetra's certainly disappeared, sadly. Oh. And we have a shrimp in there somewhere. He's survived, it's amazing. XD

I'd say it is. XD Though your other one was nice too. This one has a hint of surrealism to it.

Clown Pleco's are cool XD Is it a Blood Parrot Cichlid? Quite big? (around 20 - 25cm?) And I have absolutly no idea what your other fish is X] The Neon Tetras probably died and were then eaten by the shrimp, or the mystery fish. Or it could be your Cichlid chomping on them.
Next question : what's your tank layout like? Lots of plant? Lots of hiding places?
Guppies aren't very expensive... you could try buying 2 or 3 and then seeing if they disappear or not (as harsh as that sounds)... or just save up for a seperate tank. If you have more plants/hiding places it'd be better for the guppies to have a chance of surving.

It's probly just the whole fish in a drinking glass thing

X3 Yup. They are.
Yes it's a Blood Parrot Cichlid.
The other fish is a Chocolate Cichlid! *Figured it out* Which wasn't there when we had the Neon's, nor were the shrimp('s at the time).
So I'll vote for the Blood Parrot eating them.
The tank's a sixty gallon (I think) spherical thing with loads of rocks, a fake cavey rock at the back, and two plants. Gravel on the bottom, Which I've heard Guppy's don't entirely enjoy. XD;

Probably. 83

Yeah, it'd be best to save up for another tank then =3=
