It's a teru teru bozu...turned Drifloon!
Teru teru bozu (literally "shiny-shiny Buddhist priest) are Japanese cloth dolls that are typically hung outside or in a window to bring good weather and prevent rain. (Though, they can also be hung upside down to bring rain, if the person chooses 
) You can find more teru teru bozu in my gallery, including new soft fleece ones that I made for 2009~ Why Drifloon? Well, my boyfriend gave me this great idea; we both play Pokemon, and we noticed how the Pokemon Drifloon sort of resembles a teru teru bozu. So using some materials and extra fabric I had on hand, I went ahead and made one, and it came out great! I'm going to be making more of these so that I can sell some at my artist alley table at AnimeNEXT in June.
