A very nice shot, but once again, I find myself disappointed in the crispness of the colors. The sunlight seems to accent the ground while leaving the rhino to blend in to the background. Perhaps when dealing with subjects who's coloring is close to their surrounding, try to focus on the subject and let the background blur out of focus? Maybe that would create the pop you need..?

The rhino's posture is interesting, but the background is the source of distraction and dismay in this piece. The hill in the upper part of the background is about the same color as the rhino, and as such, we can't focus as much on the contours of the rhino's body. In addition, the tree and wooden post on the hill basically have the "tree through head" effect that all portrait photographers must avoid, and the same goes for animal photographers: it's not visually pleasing, it's distracting, etc. This background is the wrong colors (the golden dirt is fine but the browner one not so much) and too busy (awkward tree, rocks, post, etc.).

She's a beauty =]
You'll have to bear with me, as these kind of photo's aren't really my forte XD But I'll try to be as helpful as possible. I love how you caught all the details of her skin. She really is a fantastic creature. I sort of wish that there was a frontal view of her instead of a side view, but I understand it's hard to get a good shot when you're at a zoo or park and your movements are sort of limited. It could do with a bit more contrast, but overall its a very nice picture. I like that you chose a rhino - it seems to me that they are some of the less popular subjects that I've seen but she really is majestic.
Very cool =]

Would you look at that face? What a lovely face. <3
I love, love, love all the detail in her skin and face and all that. I only just wish you had gotten more of her body in the picture. It looks almost awkward the way you've cut her off at the shoulder... but maybe it wouldn't seem so awkward if you cropped the top of the picture off? To me at least, the leaves on the trees aren't doing much other than drawing my eye away from the rhino anyway, so personally I would crop that out.
Either way though its still a good picture.

Wow! Very cool picture! Pictures of animals like these always interest me because they aren't as commonplace as some animals- you don't see rhinos just walking around in the street. His skin looks so wrinkly!
