Description --BASICS--
Name: Alexis Rook

Age: Seventeen

Sex: Female

Race: Human


--APPEARANCE--
Height: 5' 5"

Weight: Very light.

Build: Lean and athletic.

Skin: Fairly tan.

Hair: A short mess of black with uneven, choppy ends.

Eyes: Dark blue. Edged around the bottom with the tired circles of too many sleepless nights.

Other defining features: A good chunk of her left ear is missing, something she tries to keep hidden under her hair. Its hearing is impaired somewaht, making everything she hears through it muffled and sometimes indistinguishable.

Clothing: She wears a large black jacket that's ends go down past her waist with the sleeves messily cut down to a manageable length. The zipper on it is broken and there are several hidden pockets sewn on its inner sides, along with a mismatched blue hood sewn to its collar. A pair of faded denim shorts cover her legs and reach down a bit past her knees, and on her torso is a black shirt with the words She Wants Revenge printed on it in faded red cursive text. On her feet are a simple pair of worn out red sneakers.


--PERSONALITY--
Overview: Alexis is not very social. She tends to avoid conversations, and is generally crass and rude whenever she gets involved in one. Ever since the death of her brother, she has also been fairly depressed and become prone to bouts of inactivity and apathy. As such she doesn't adapt well to failure, and will try to avoid problems vehemently rather than try to solve them.

Loves: Sports and all manners of athletic endeavors, listening to music, cigarettes, new clothing (especially socks), comfy beds, warm food.

Hates: People who talk too much, being told what to do, making mistakes, losing, sleeping on the ground, dealing with numbers, Death, being patient.

Fears: Dogs and feral beasts in general, having to admit to her own mistakes, failure.

Strengths: Alexis always wants to get the task at hand done quickly, and when faced with a hard enough task she is usually willing to cooperate with others just to get it done faster. She has a great deal of initiative and enough common sense to know when to avoid unnecessary conflict with others.

Weaknesses: Alexis is very impatient, and when initially confronted with a problem will try to solve it in the quickest, bluntest way possible. She is also easily antagonized, however she is fairly good about choosing when to run from a fight. She is not very sociable at all and will not make alliances with others or hand out her trust without a significant amount of convincing. As stated before, she is also very prone to bouts of depression in the face of failure.

Pick one of the SEVEN DEADLY SINS that your character relates to, and one that your character does not relate to: Alex does relate to Sloth as, after losing her brother, she became increasingly prone to bouts of depression and apathy when confronted with failure. She simply does not deal well with it, and will most often avoid trying to right any wrongs she's committed. She does not relate to Lust, as she does not love much of anything in an obsessive or deep way.

Pick one of the SEVEN HOLY VIRTUES that your character relates to, and one that your character does not relate to: Alex does relate to Fortitude, for despite her depression and defeated nature, she has continued to endure her life even in the underworld. She does not relate to Prudence, as she is most often impatient with her actions and unreasonably reckless when trying to achieve her goals.

Quirks:
-Alexis smokes in an attempt to make herself look more adult and mature around others. She picked the habit up after seeing so many other wanderers doing the same thing.
-Her hands are naturally shaky, and this only worsens when she's put under stress. This causes her to fumble things often, such as lighters or her cigarettes.
-When thinking she will curse under her breath for little reason, usually when she is encountered with a troubling thought or if she's just ending a process of thought (Sort of like a vocal punctuation mark).


--HISTORY--
Setting: The sprawling megacity of In, where she was raised for eleven years, located within the barren expanse of wasteland known as Out, where she struggled to survive for two years. She has been living in Death's domain, the debauched underworld city of Nothing, for the past four years after failing to win the first Exchange tournament.

Family/Friends: None at the beginning of the tournament, aside from her parents, who still live in the city of In, and her brother Jamie, who passed on during the course of the first Exchange tournament.

Background: Alexis was born in the city of In to a pair of relatively wealthy parents who, while loving and supportive toward their children, found more pleasure in their careers than they did in childrearing. By the time she was eleven, and her brother nine, she had grown bored of her life in the city, and evermore fascinated with the expansive wasteland of Out that surrounded her home. Convinced that she would be able to lead a more exciting life for her brother and her in the wastes, they eventually managed to find a way out of the walled city. This would turn out to be a mistake they would never be able to redeem.

For two years the children lived in utter squalor, living off the scraps and refuse In was only so generous to ship out to the less fortunate of Out. They were battered and harassed, put into the most extreme situations on an almost daily basis to keep their lives in tact. It was at their most desperate moment that they met Death, the cunning god that put together the first Exchange tournament. He promised them a way home, which Alexis accepted along with her brother, not knowing the dire consequences that awaited them.

The children faced opponents who possessed abilities they never imagined could have existed. They triumphed over a number of powerful foes, from magicians to even demi-gods, when they met a challenge they could not overcome, which ended in Jamie's demise. This was also the point the tournament ended prematurely, ensuring no one would win the tournament, and Alexis was left alone.

Taking the hood of her brother's sweater and his knapsack, the young teen set off on her own in Death's underworld city, Nothing, where she burrowed into its obscene nightlife to try and escape the horrors she had faced. She'd been living there for four years before Satan found her a suitable contestant for his new tournament. . .


--COMBAT--
Fighting Style: Alexis' main weapon in combat is an aluminum baseball bat. She isn't trained in any particular fighting style, and will generally go for heavier strikes to finish fights quickly. She also keeps several knives on her person which she uses in a stealthier fashion, waiting for her opponent to drop their guard and striking the moment they do.

Weapons/Gear: Her metal baseball bat, the Detroit Driver. It's approximately three feet in length and very resilient to denting and being damaged. She also keeps several knives on her: one larger one within her jacket, and a few stashed away in her knapsack. Also in her jacket are myriad cigarettes and lighters. In her knapsack she keeps a number of canned foods, sodas, water bottles, some basic medical supplies (bandages and disinfectant), and a sleeping bag.

Physical Attributes: Due to her lean frame and somewhat developed muscles from traveling, Alexis can move pretty fast. If she breaks out into a full run the many things in her pockets will jangle noisily and sometimes fall out. Her strength is nothing special; she's not going to be knocking anyone out with a punch, but a flailing, solidly placed kick could cause more tender areas to ache.


--TOURNAMENT--
Your character is invited to the tournament by...: Satan, who believes Alexis would be a very fitting foil for Death in her potential duties as a new death god.

Why does your character want to be a death god?: To become equal with Death, and ultimately get revenge on him for the death of her brother.

Reaping style: When presented with a soul to reap, Alexis would try to get it done with as soon as possible without much regard for the person involved. This, obviously, may change as the tournament progresses.

Team:  Alexis would be willing enough to team up with anyone that possesses a hatred for Death as strong as hers. Her end game for this tournament is his demise, and anyone willing to help her do so is a teammate in her book.
