4Kids is overhated. They're not that bad.

I find some of their dubs to be tolerable. Plus, I heard the censorship was a result of executive meddling (Which I think is worse than censorship.).

Plus they had some genuinely good actors. And not all the changes they made were bad.

Kinda makes me wonder what theyβre all doing these days. Hopefully not going into hiding because theyβre worried that rabid 4Kids haters will find their homes and burn them down.

Plenty of them moved to California over the years to pursue Anime voice acting there.
Plenty of them have also stopped voice acting in general, and they moved on to other things.
Some still do voice work in New York for Yu-Gi-Oh Anime, or they do voices for NYAV post voice work,Β which has two studiosΒ that cooperateΒ on dubbing. (One in New York, and one in California.)Β

Ah, it's good to know they're at least doing okay. Now that you mention it, I was playing Fire Emblem Heroes and I think I recognized one of the VAs as someone who used to work for 4Kids.Β

Cool! Mike has been in plenty of those dubs. He's quite a jack of all trades. (I think you spelled it right.) I met the guy, he's really nice!
And I forgot to mention, some of them still do PokΓ©mon voice work, in addition to Yu-Gi-Oh.

I don't blame you. I will say this about that version of Mew Mew Tokyo-It's actually the reason I own the Manga today. Even though...from seeing 4kids' interpretation of it compared to the manga...4kids definitely took some strange liberties. Then again, they took all kids of weird liberties with anyone's work.

Back then when the original Pokemon aired on 4Kids, there was a episode where Brock was cooking something delicous.. looked like riceballs, right?
Well they called them jelly-filled donuts!
Plus in a future episode in a few years later, they said that Arbok evolves into Seviper
....

I think the cartoon that they were most lenient with (concerning censorship) was tmnt (there was an episode where a weird bug guy thing got cut in half...yuk)

TMNT (2003) was made by 4kids and another company in America. So they never had anything to censor/cut. What makes me mad however is that TMNT (2003) cointained much stuff they would have cut from the anime they dubbed! Hypocrytical if you ask me.

4kids in a nutshell.
also, if you looked at some of the older cartoons like ppg or courage the cowardly dog, they had stuff that wouldn't get past censorship with 4kidsΒ (I think powerpuff girls had guns in an episode and courage the cowardly dog was...courage the cowardly dog. lots of crazy stuff.)
If they're not dumbing down anime that's ment for teenagers, they're treating kids as if they're more stupid than they already are.

Well, things was done differently at that time. It's not only 4kids that does some of this cuts. Saban who dubbed Digimon did cut some guns too.

well, maybe not just 4kids treating kids like they're dumb (kids know how to read words-you don't have to erase every single English word in sonic,4kids!), but some cartoons in general with their constant fart jokes and trying to hard to be funny, like as if kids wouldn't understand some more mature humor or situations (like with teen titans - they didn't sugar coat things when starfire went to the future and everybody's friendship fell apart.).

No, 4kids did that too Yu-Gi-Oh. The thing is, it's the networks that forces many of this edits. And in turn, the networks has to force many of this edits due to whiny parents. The thing is, 4kids are overdoing it and are often afraid of taking riskes..
