Description Hoo-ray for 2 day costumes 8D This is Belarus- ( Natalia (Natasha) Alfroskaya) from Axis Powers Hetalia

So sac-anime '09 was very last minute decision to go, but to make it more worth it to attend i whipped up a belarus costume to wear with friends! I had little time to make it in, but i managed.

had cape fabric he had never used, and it was the right shade of blue/type of fabric i wanted. I used white from what i had at home, so the only things i had to buy was lace/trims/ and materials to make my own petticoat(not pictured in this photo since it would've gotten in the way =B) and yes I did make my own petticoat XD;; i'm crazy.

I was so inspired by a lot of art of belarus where she's kneeling and reading her knives, and thought it'd be fun to do my own so i did!

it's a series that revolves around countries personified as people, currently there just short comic strips, and then later turn into an animated series.

This is so cute! I think it would be too poofy with a petticoat (unless you really like poof and frou frou. I'm not a big frou frou poofy kind of girl). Deep blue looks really good on you.

Are those knives real or are they just plastic props?

the petticoat i made wasn't too poofy, i just did 4 gathered tulle skirts, i might improve it for next time, but yeah i think for this particular costume i'm not going to make it too poofy ^^

and yes they are fake XD just cheap 1$ store knives.
