Histórico: É uma Deusa plêiadiana; uma das sete irmãs, filhas de Atlas e Plêione. Para que escapassem do gigante Órion, Zeus transformou-as no aglomerado estelar das Plêiades, integrante da constelação de Touro. Passando a viver na Via Láctea, exílio e lar das deidades menores; com Zeus, Maia teve Hermes. Maia e Hermes temiam a fúria de Hera, por ciúmes de Zeus. Porém, em vez de serem odiados, os dois conseguiram a simpatia de Hera.

History: She is a Pleiadian Goddess; one of the seven sisters, daughters of Atlas and Plêione. To escape the giant Orion, Zeus transformed them into the star cluster of the Pleiades, a member of the constellation Taurus. Moving to live in the Milky Way, exile and home of the lesser deities; with Zeus, Maia had Hermes. Maia and Hermes feared the fury of Hera, jealous of Zeus. But instead of being hated, the two got Hera's sympathy.
