Description I created the terrain using Vue 9 and Worldmachine 2.
Final Render Made in Vue 9 Complete.

For the atmosphere I started out with Golden Morning with several modifications from the D&D atmosphere pack ([link] ).

Hi matey, could you please tell me how you made the prop blurr spin effect, I would like to do this on my own plane, other than that your work is still wonderful as always.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dave-DK In reply to retromaniak [2012-10-06 18:08:49 +0000 UTC]

Quite easy... I modelled a propellor... made a render in neutral light.
I took the render to photoshop, applied the alfa mask I had, and performed a radial blur on the image.
Ctrl+click the layer to make a selection and make an new alfa mask from the selection.

Thank oyu very much! And feel free to send me a note if I was not clear enough.

Why is the text "Cripes A Mighty 3rd" written backwards on the nose of the planes?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Dave-DK In reply to RyanNore [2012-01-06 09:17:15 +0000 UTC]

Lol! Didn't see that up till now. The plane is a standard vue-stock model (only changed the propellors and the reflection) It came textured that way.

RyanNore In reply to Dave-DK [2012-01-06 11:24:11 +0000 UTC]

Trip... must be so that if you see it in your rear view mirror you can read it, huh? Kind of like on the front end of an ambulance, right?
=0P

Oh well... nice job! It should be fairly easy to flip the texture, right?

Thank you very much Gill!
The world machine file was really simple this time, most of the work is in vue's procedural terrain, there I created most of the details.
Feel free to ask any time!

Great render. Terrain and atmosphere are perfect. Only airplanes seem to new and shiny for this scene. Make them dirty . Looking forward for more renders of this great terrain. Ps ecosystem works great to support this terrain and atmosphere. Cheers

Don't tell me - you rendered this with an Nvidia graphics card, right? I tried, and tried,.. no matter what I did I could NOT get my ATI card to render anything more complex than a few boxes. I asked on the Vue forums only to be ignored. I haven't bothered with Vue since. I don't see why I should have to own an Nvidia graphics card just to successfully render a scene.

barrymdesigns In reply to FuckOffffff [2011-10-19 16:53:40 +0000 UTC]

My graphics card is integrated into the motherboard! Have you tried new drivers? Pop along to our Facebook page "Vue galleries", someone there should be able to help.
Oh beautiful image by the way Dave!

Glad you've asked
I render this 4k x 1,5k on a simple core I5 with 4GB of ram with an intel integrated graphics card of 256mb (doesn't even have a name)under 2,5 hours

I tried 4 different drivers, I tried turning off certain features in Vue, (Vue Sci-fi with added extras), but I just could not stop it crashing,s o I gave up after 7mths of relentless trying. The Vue admins, (Cornucopia 3D I think), were nigh-on useless. I'm never buying their software products again, period. I should point out they said that Nvidia was the preferred/recommended brand for the OpenGL compatibility, but my graphics card had the required OpenGL and Shader 2.0 architecture, that's why I bought Vue Sci-Fi.
