I actually made a thing that I'm proud ofThere's actually symbolism behind this
So don't freak out, thinking this will actually happen in the narrative
Cuz it won't
EDIT: I fixed some parts of the shading that looked kinda weird

I have to say the biggest problem with this drawing is the shading. The shading on the face and neck is a bit consistent but some parts of the clothing and hands isn't. I would suggest watching where the light source is. Try drawing a circle of something to remind you where the light source is. Another critique I have is the line thickness. On the face,neck, and skull is thin while on the clothes it is thick. I'm not sure if this is an art style but if it's not I suggest watching the different line sizes. Other than that the artwork it really good!

okay Daiya wrote a pretty bad critique, which was true but not really helpful. This art is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and it's hard for me to find flaws, but from experience, I learned that no matter how proud of your drawing you are in the present, when your art improves greatly you will come to hate it ;-; (that applies to me except my art is still cringe)
I love the soft shading you did. Obviously with watercolor, which differs from hard shadingl the shading is great! no airbrush those suck. If you want, try to find different styles of shading. You never did cell shading before and I would love to see you try that.
The lineart is amazing and beautiful! So clean and smooth :> only problem I think is probably the left hand. the pinky looks a little weird but maybe that's just me. Hey, hands are torture so that's just a minor nitpick.
Overall it's AMAZING! Try different styles for experiment and maybe practice drawing hands and you'll be able to draw the Mona Lisa in a month XD

Tbh, when I have something I am proud of, I dont like it when people critique it? That is just me though. And I know most people are like me, so I simply just support their art. :"3c

huh, when I have something I'm proud of I LOVE it when people critique it! They say all the things I improved on as well as give me advice to improve even more since one's art can never be perfect, but that's just me though

For me, it decreases that value for me, and then makes me unproud of it.

But I prefer that on other drawings, so I can still look at the drawing im proud of, but not think of it as complete shit that I will delete, which I have done before.
(since I have done that once when someone critiqued me since I felt like it was horrible, and I wasn't proud of it anymore)

And the thing is, this actually IS cell shading
It's soft cell shading
You see, there are different ways to do cell shading. There's the classic hard cell shading (which I think is what you're talking about), where you choose a single colour, and do all of the shading on a multiply layer with a pen brush.
But then there's soft cell shading (which is what I've been trying out recently), where you do the same thing, but with a softer brush.
I'm personally not a huge fan of using hard shading? I've tried it out a couple of times, and it's just not really my thing. I guess one of the reasons is because, with a soft watercolour brush, I can add more subtleties and details than I could if I were to use a pen brush. I sometimes try other styles of shading, but I'm never a big fan of them, so I never post them.
