This was done with black, gray and white charcoal pencils (Stabilo CarbOthello). It produces a nice color transition and a silvery feel like silverpoint.

lovely, just amazing. i say life drawing is the foundation of it all. i think most artists who are only interested in the stylized look fall short in their potential.

thank you for helping me realize this, you have shown me how interesting normal life can be. i don't always need to stylize or give an exotic pose. You have helped me appreciate art in it's truest form.

Im glad I was able to inspire you to grow as an artist and try a new approach. I look forward to seeing the results!

Thank you. That link is very nice, he looks academically trained but I couldnt find any information on where he studied on the wbesite.

jjackm In reply to Darkdesyre [2008-02-29 17:18:30 +0000 UTC]

I am pretty sure he trains people in that respect. Mark Tennant received a BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and earned an MFA from the New York Academy of Art. He has also studied at Art Center, College of Design in Los Angeles and the Art Students League of New York. He has taught at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and at Atelier du Caroussel and Academie Julian in Paris
