This is a design for the contest held by

The goal was to design the companion of Shaya. I worked with the few given informations about her likings and designed a little boy for her. It was a very relaxing work, I guess I might have to design more ^^ (so anyone who's interested in a design, just comment xD)

'bout the boy up there:
Tried to mix some earthy, rustic tones with the light oranges of autumn woods and tiger lilies. The eyes are of deep blue, the one which slowly creeps over horizon when the sun finally sinks down another time. His horn + hooves are made of white opal and represent the strength of the stone which gave his powers to the stallion. The white opal is known as stone of love and hope and makes feelings stronger. So this boy is kind of an empathist. He's able to 'read' feelings of others, even if they hide them well. This makes him a rather good companion for Shaya, as he can feel the pain of others and tell her where it's located.

But the stone isn't just white and virgin, it is irridescent, sparkling in deep blues and bright greens. It never looks the same again, and similar to this it's his mind that changes in seconds. He's got a fire in him that makes him strong and wild. His lust of life sometimes burst out of him like water down a cascade. He can't stand still, he's moving all the time, his whole body expresses motion in its pure being.
