Just showing the steps I take in making one of my creatures faces!!! This is for a baby fox I have as a commission!!I like working off of the bottom of a glass container, it gives me something to hold so I don't have my hands all over the clay!!! I start by building the base, adding foil to the center so it can be hollowed out later!!! I build around the foil and shape it, give it spots for the eyes and the nose!!! Add clay for the eyes and work around them with clay to make the eye lids!!! Then shape out the nose and mouth, and any other parts that won't have fur!!! After the fur detail is done its ready to bake!!! I leave it on the glass and bake it for a hour at 275F, when it cools it can then be taken off the glass and the foil removed!!!
