Has he been rolling around in dirt?

I think yes. This picture was taken in the spring when they spend more time on the ground.

Great focus, is it sandy on its stomach?

Thanks

Yes, I took this photo near the pond where they were breeding (there was a lot of mud and sand everywhere).

Thanks

Unlucky my department is concentrated on small and large mammals, birds. I'm the only one (except my "boss") who works on insects.

We are ecologists. I've finished "environmental biology" at Warsaw University where I still work. I'm interested in saproxylic beetles ecology. My wife works at Warsaw Agricultural University, she works on entomopatogenic nematodes. Photography is our hobby

nice. I think photography will also become more a hobby, since money wont always be good. And i wouldnt want to take pictures for money, i want to take pictures for love!

Me too... but when you don't earn too much every $$ will help you a lot. I wish I could finance my new photographic equipment only from the money I could earn by selling pictures.
Macrophotography isn't too popular... maybe I should become wedding photographer
