"Bachelor's all shop the same way, for Christmas or otherwise. They always delay until the last minute, and it ends up being both returnable and convenient for a guy frantically finishing up his shopping. Now, Sesshoumaru probably assigned Jaken to get the presents on Rin's list at least a month ago, but this is Jaken--he screwed it up, and Sesshoumaru's stuck trying to find her present. Of course, this is probably the first time he's actually taken a look at what she wants...

Watch him go down the mental checklist when he sees Shippou:
Returnable - check! (especially because it would annoy Inuyasha to bring him back)
Convenient - heck yeah!
Already wrapped - bachelor bonus!"
