The "Kunoichi" from the game "The Ninja Warriors"
The original game was created by Taito for the arcades in 1987 and was a success in Japan, specially its music, for me one of the best classic video game soundtracks ever.
A remake/reimagining of the arcade game appeared on the Super Nintendo in 1994 developed by Natsume called The Ninja Warriors Again and added a new character and more moves, also with a great soundtrack too.
I named this pic that way because the main characters are robots created by a rebel's group lider named Mulk (lol) to murder an evil dictator who took control of the whole nation (not specified). The idea is to penetrate the defense forces and when they reach their target a nuclear bomb inside them will detonate. So basically is a suicide mission...kind off because they are robots XD

Dude, I loved this game as a kid. Never beat it til I was in College. The story after the mission success is such a let down, but the rest of the game covers well for it.

Pues me inspire en ambos juegos, el de arcade y snes. Buenos titulos y que es cierto que no es un personaje emblematico para la mayoria, pero igual existimos muchos fans de estos titulos poco comentados.

muy bien dicho, la version de arcade la vi algo hardcore pero la estoy probando en sega cd y el tanque es muy problemático y hay una opcion en la cual sale un corte con escenas de un antro y una cara japonesa macabra en los creditos.tipico de japón.

The "Big Daddy Mulk" song from the 1st Ninja Warriors is cool and one of my favorites too.
But unfortunately, it's really the only song from that soundtrack that stands out.
However....the soundtrack to its sequel/remake on the Famicon/SNES
("Ninja Warriors Again" on Famicon, and "Ninja Warriors" on SNES)
is one of the best ever, and continues to be among my favorite OST's to this day.

Well, I dunno, I love the whole soundtrack of the arcade version, specially "Japanese Smile" and "Are You Lady?".
Love both the arcade and SNES soundtracks in a different way.
IF you want to listen different music from basically the same game try Syvalion, also by Taito, bboth the arcade and the SNES port had different soundtracks, both are great, one is more into strange futuristic sounds and the other has a funky, japanese pop vibe.

They're fine, but they don't have that catchy......"umf".....like Big Daddy Mulk.

Yes, I was aware that the home version of Ninja Warriors for the Famicon/SNES had a different OST.
Obviously not a direct port of the arcade game, but seemed to be more of an "adaptation" of the game for home.
But I still liked the music on that one better than the arcade game's own tracks.
Now to be clear...I don't think that all of the songs from NinjaWarriorsAgain are great,
but I'd say that I really enjoy about 12 out of the 23 or so total tracks:
#2 the short "NinjaWarriorsAgain" title screen.

#6 Port (I really like this one)
#8 City Center
#10 Parking Block
#12 City
#13 Sky Scraper
#14 Boss 5 (I really like this one too)
#15 Best Room
#17 Pursuit

Not to say that I hate the other tracks, but these are just the ones I like to the most.
I've never heard of "Syvalion" before....guess I'll have to go look that one up and give it a listen.

Seems like you like more melodic music, that's why you only like Daddy Mulk from the original game, and that's fine because that's why it is the first stage theme, to attract people to play it. Iwatsuki's SNES soundtrack is all about melodies, every track is composed with a more easy to listen composition work and that's why is so catchy and I love it for sure. Hisayoshi Ogura's work is more about progression rather than melody, his compositions are more into the experimental and in some way Avant garde kind of stuff, that's why the rest of the tunes didn't appeal to you, but for me are really damn good music because I'm more into that.
In resume, is all about tastes, the good thing is we have 2 great soundtracks to listen, we will have our favourite, but both have their own personality and that's great.

The original arcade version was a 2 player coop game. Also a kind of remake/remaster of the SNES game will be released this year and is going to be a 2 player coop game too.

Sadly I think that will never happen because licence issues and stuff. But it doesn't need it, I mean, sure there are games that can be remade but those will lose some of its charm you know, the limitations of the systems and technology pushed the creativity of the developers to do something unique and fun, so doing that now just doesn't feel the same, at least IMO.
