I like this one a lot, the use of the colors, the raw action behind the strokes. Very cool.

And you do it so well... you've captured a huge sense of warmth and vastness in this.

That's interesting - I thought of a heart before I even read the title. It is surreal all right, with a red sea and that tree that looks like it's exploding. Very original composition, and nicely done. I like the depth you added to it with the distant mountains too.

I love watercolor! It’s so hard to work with at first, but once you get a feel for it, the medium is fabulous to work with!
This looks like an old, oriental style paintingβ€”I love how long it is and the tree in dead center. The pale background, I think, really helps the viewer cue in on that vivid red treeβ€”it has so much detail to look at!
I would not have changed a thing in thisβ€”well done!

NIce center contrast and center emphasis. The tree looks like it has blood stain like leaves. Cool!

Very interesting. I know it takes a while to get use to water color. I know it did for me, but I'd suggest you add in more contrast and it'd be quite a site to look at. For contrast all I do is start out with light colors as my background. Then work up to medium, then finally ad on dark colors. That's kind of what I do and it works well for me.

this is gorgeous!! i love that big splash of color that totally grabbed my attention. watercolors (at least for me) are pretty difficult to work with, but it looks like you had a lot of control in this painting. bravo!

I know I said I don't like to comment on top fav's in someones gallery but I couldnt resist (plus this one is easier to comment on ).

The composition is top notch, I honestly think it cannot be improved on at all. The colors of the background are great and although I like the "pop" of the red in the tree, I think a little more understatement might make it a little more continous when looking at the painting as a whole. I don't know too much about paint but I do know about style, and I think this is bang on.

If the red was a little less vibrant, the whole composition would come together I think.

All in all though this is truly your best piece, but I see a lot of creativity in your gallery and promise.

Cheers.
