Apparently so, They took her name as being some kind of slur for handicapped people, and think it's insulting, except that I find it more insulting that they're trying to make it like people with those problems don't exist. If anyones going to pick up on it it would have been my Neice (Whose uncle my step brother is handicapped in a similar way) and she LOVES Derpy even asking me to draw her. >_> People are just stupid, what Ponies can't have down syndrome? And be super clutzy?

It was a rumor that Hasbro is going to erase Derpy, because few loud people started writing that she is offensive.
Fortunately rumor wasn't true and she is still with us

No, that completely passed me by! Whether it was true that Hasbro were actually going to do that or not - It would be annoying for a character loved by the majority to be up on the chopping block due to a small fraction moaning about them! sadly this seems to happen in other events quite often >.>
